Time honored hand sewn craftsmanship and the worlds finest hand curried bridle leather from England combine to create a leather fly rod case worthy of fine fly rods, a case never bested at any lodge. Available in colors of light or dark Havana the two colors can be combined for a smashing contrast between the roasted coffee bean brown of the dark Havana and the light brown of the light Havana. An aluminum tube insert wrapped in the best Mali wool billiard cloth adds stout protection and another touch of elegance in a rattle free internal environment for fine fly fishing rods. Case fittings are European brass. Our reel on rod cases are an elegant version of a modern standard. With a fully protected neck and soft natural shearling lined zippered pouch. Also available for large arbor reels.
Hand set stitches set our cases apart. A hand sewn seam provides an incomperable look of quality and when stitches are set across BUTTED EDGES as ours are, they provide the only means of producing a FLAT BODY SEAM and a continously round leather fly rod case (shown in the lower left photo; always ask to see the seam).
Carrying handle is included. Shoulder straps also available. Our cap closure design has been the trade standard design for round leather cases since the 1800's and for good reason, the cap stays secured to the case when in the open position, providing the most durable alternative. Case lengths to 60 inches. Diameters of 2", 2 1/2", 3" and 4". Available designs include standard round, reel-on-rod, 1800's roll up style for easy packing, multi-tube and OVAL - seen above, right. We also build cases to fit over your existing capped tube.

A true clam style reel case with elegant flowing lines formed by a mathematically calculated ellipse. A hard, rigid case in stout 3/16" thick bridle leather properly designed after 1800 style clam cases with a flush fitting lid fully supported internally to provide stability and rigidity to the cap. A strap snugly secures the cap to the body with a Sam Browne stud. Inside, billiard cloth provides a traditional lining and a smashing contrast to the rich color of the hand curried English bridle leather. A complicated, labor intensive case with fittings to fractions of a millimeter combine with impeccable hand sewing to insure an aesthetically pleasing valise for the finest of Vom Hofe style reels.
